Tax Shift at City Hall

VANCOUVER - Good news for small businesses, not so good for residents.

Vancouver city council has voted to increase residential property tax by one percent per year for the next five years.

Business property taxes will decrease by the same amount.

It’s an annual shift of about 24 million dollars.

Bob Laurie with the Fair Tax Coalition says it’s a small price to pay for keeping small businesses going.
